Push & Pull Marketing
As I promised, here is a description of push and pull marketing.
Push Marketing:
Push marketing is when you try to use different traffic generating avenues and push visitors to view your website/blog etc.
In my opinion; push marketing is known to be an unstable form of marketing that may or may not have an effect to your business but in the most part it is ineffective for a healthy and long-term traffic for reducing marketing costs.
Lets take pay per click for example; pay per click is a form of push marketing because you keep paying for traffic over and over again to keep attracting visitors over and over again to your website. But what if you stopped paying for pay per click? is that same traffic you were getting will continue, or will it stop? Well that a no-brainer right?
So with that said push marketing will have you spending money over and over again without stop and also will not leave you a guaranteed form of traffic that will always be there. In other words it is a permanent form of marketing and only temporarily.
Now please note: I am not doubting pay per click, nor am I saying that pay per click is the only form of push marketing because there is a lot of push marketing programs out there but pay per click is the most understanding of them all which is why I chose it so that you can understand better. Pay per click works and it working for lots people who see great results but that’s a different subject we can cover in posts to come about pay per click.
Pull Marketing:
Simply put: pull marketing is using effective and permanent marketing strategies that will bring visitors over and over again back to your website/blog etc.
Pull marketing is the way to increase your exposure and at the same time decrease your marketing expense. To do this effectively and virally, there are certain programs that you MUST invest money in order to actually make this work. Permanent marketing is about volume, so you can also call it volume pull marketing.
These types of marketing avenues involve:
- Video marketing
- Article marketing
- Forum marketing
- Social bookmarking
- Social media marketing
- Press releases
- Classified Marketing
- Blog Commenting
